The Alan Parsons Project é uma daquelas coisas que… para quem não sabe, Alan Parsons foi o engenheiro de som do Dark Side of the Moon… o melhor álbum de todos os tempos… e o seu projeto, The Alan Parsons Project será aquilo que se pode considerar como um dos expoentes máximos do rock progressivo num género muito polido que mistura muita sofisticação técnica com melodias que se aproximam do banal mais pop que se pode ouvir…

Para mim, The Alan Parsons é boa música para ser ouvida de fones nos ouvidos, num dia de sol… sem ouvir nada nem ninguém… prestando muita atenção à música mas também à letra, ela muito intelectual, literária e um tanto distante… abstrata…

Don't Answer Me" será provavelmente uma exceção… retrata o fim de um relacionamento marcado por ilusões e a necessidade de silêncio para evitar novas mágoas… a resignação após a desistência de um "mundo de sonhos”….

Para mim, sinceramente, e retirando o romance e o amor da equação, esta letra retrata também muito daquilo que é a forma de muitos de nós encaramos a vida: ilusões, ilusões e ilusões!…

Magia… sim, mas só nos espetáculos de ilusão!…
